Are you new to our Church?  We are excited to welcome you!! If you have not yet worshipped with us, we invite you to join us in our beautiful new sanctuary.  It is our desire that you feel warmly greeted and welcomed as you enter our doors.  We pray that you will be comfortable in our midst, want to worship with us weekly, and get involved in our church activities so we can get to know you.  We hope that will lead you to feel “at home” and eventually desire to join our fellowship.  We look forward to having you with us next Sunday!

Membership preparation classes are usually held once every quarter. Would you like a tour of our facility? Talk with someone at the Welcome Desk about arranging an escorted tour.

If you have not picked up an informative Newcomer Packet at the Welcome Desk, please do that. And we invite you to fill out a Newcomer Information Trifold found in the Newcomer Packet and in the pew racks.  Take it to the Welcome Desk where there is a free gift waiting for you.

As you continue to attend, you will become part of our Newcomer Program.  Here are the ways we try to make you feel a continued welcome!

1. After your first visit you will receive a personal note from the Pastor, if we have your address.
2. After your second visit, if we have a phone number, you will receive a  phone call to verbally welcome you, make sure we transferred all your information correctly, and see if you have any questions.
3. Once you have attended a fourth time, you will be sent a postcard to let you know we appreciate your continued attendance.
4. After a sixth visit, you will be offered a host family to help you learn more about the church and/or an “at your home visitor” who can answer any question you may still have.
5. Any time along this journey, you may join Wyoming Church.  After 8 visits, we consider you a constituent or regular attender.  Some Newcomers make a decision to join at this time.  We hope you will, too!

How to join Wyoming UMC:

Whether you are a member of another church and would like to transfer your membership, or whether you’ve been away from church for awhile and would like to renew your vows of commitment to Jesus as your Lord and Savior, or whether you’ve never entered a church and are a complete beginner, you are welcome at Wyoming, and there is a way for you to become a member.

The best way for you to find out is to come to an “introduction to Wyoming UMC” luncheon, the next one coming up on Sunday, May 5th, 2013.  In about two hours, you’ll get lots of information about the United Methodist Church and specifically this congregation, brochures and other info material and you’ll meet other people interested in joining Wyoming UMC.

If you’d rather have a private conversation with our lead pastor Patti Collett, we would be delighted to do that, too.  Just call the church office (697-8400) and Patti’s secretary Renate Passley will make an appointment for you.
