Rick began his time as pastor at Wyoming Church in July 2016. He had previously been the pastor of Gethsemane UMC in Seaford, DE and St. George’s UMC in Clarksville, DE. In July of 2016, Rick also began his ninth year of full time ministry. Rick’s passion in ministry is the teaching and preaching of God’s Word, the Bible.
He is a native of Clayton, DE. He holds a BA degree in Psychology from the University of Delaware, and he has his Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. While at ATS, Rick met his wife Lindsay, and they have been married since July 2007. Lindsay is also a United Methodist pastor, serving Concord UMC. Lindsay and Rick are passionate about animals, as their “zoo” or “ark” consists of two dogs, three cats, two guinea pigs, a rabbit, and two birds. They are the proud parents of Elias Robert Wessell, who was born on October 13, 2014.
Rick is a crazed fan of the Baltimore Ravens, the Baltimore Orioles, and University of Delaware football. He also enjoys road cycling, working out, and cooking.
Dave Hill has served Wyoming Church as Worship Leader since the summer of 1999. He was given the role of Director of Contemporary Worship in July of 2011 and was appointed as a part-time Licensed Local Pastor on July 1, 2014. Dave will continue to serve Wyoming Church as Pastor of Contemporary Worship.
Dave, his wife Pam, and their two children, Elaina and Mark, have been members of Wyoming Church since 1998. Pam teaches second grade at W. Reily Brown Elementary School. Elaina works in the Office of Residence Life at the University of New Hampshire, and Mark is a Para-Professional at Fifer Middle School.
Dave recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Delaware Technical Community College with an Associate’s Degree in General Business Technologies and with the advent of his appointment to a pastoral role, he is beginning his religious studies via The United Methodist Course of Study Program. Dave is employed as a Senior Account Executive with Clear Channel Media and Entertainment where he has worked in radio advertising sales since 1998. Prior to his radio career, Dave enjoyed a 22 year career in various roles in the automobile business. Dave finds a lot of joy in working with people and truly feels his “day-job” is an extension of his ministry.
Dave has had a sense of God’s call in his life for many years and took the initial steps toward pastoral ministry in September of 2010. His call has been acknowledged and authenticated through The United Methodist Candidacy process and became a Licensed Local Pastor in June of 2014 following licensing school.
His current responsibilities in his role at Wyoming Church include the coordination of the worship music for the 9:45 and Praise Services along with serving as Worship Leader. He is also responsible for the technology needs in the Church Sanctuary and Family Life Center.
In his free time Dave most enjoys spending time with family, playing a little golf, officiating youth basketball games, watching the Orioles and Ravens, and leisure reading.
He looks forward to continuing in ministry with the wonderful people of Wyoming Church as we continue to “Welcome, Grow, and Serve” together.
